“In general terms, moderation is an act of balance between two extremes or
tendencies in handling conflicts. Moderation – as a philosophy – is an area that
resonates with the various faiths and cultures of the world.
Global Movement of Moderates Foundation seeks to serve as a platform in
navigating the global scenario of the current, between bridging differences,
resolving tensions justly and ultimately, towards peaceful co-existence.”

DATO’ DR NASHARUDIN MAT ISA

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN AND CEO

Every once in a while, there comes a most kairotic moment, and for the movement of moderates, such a defining moment may have come in 2010 at the assembly hall of the United Nations General Assembly when the Honourable Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak implored and declared the need for a global movement of moderates – of all faiths – to once more seize the initiative of the global world from the hands of extremist.

Admittedly, the concept of moderation is not a novelty, but the movement and alliances of moderates, represented a new paradigm in the field of international relations, and with such grandiose plans and ventures of man, the onus certainly falls upon him to not only manage expectations but ultimately to deliver.

Thus, there is the germane need for the narratives of moderation to be properly defined, diplomatically disseminated within a most just and intellectual manner. The propagation of the voices and spirit of moderation to all spheres of society is most necessary in combatting the rising tide of intolerances and extremism. The principles and practices of moderation is essential in fostering the spirit of learning to live together towards peaceful co-existence.

In general terms, moderation is an act of balance between two extremes or tendencies in handling conflicts. Moderation – as a philosophy – is an area that resonates with the various faiths and cultures of the world. The Global Movement of Moderates Foundation seeks to serve as a platform in navigating the global scenario of the current, between bridging differences, resolving tensions justly and ultimately, towards peaceful co-existence.
